🥩 Char Siu-Style Grilled Pork Chops
Inspired by Chinese BBQ pork — sticky, sweet, and packed with umami.
Ingredients:- 4 bone-in pork chops (¾” to 1” thick)
- 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine or dry sherry (optional)
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp Chinese five spice powder
- Optional: 1–2 drops red food coloring
- Mix all marinade ingredients. Place pork in a resealable bag or dish and coat.
- Marinate 4–24 hours in the fridge.
- Grill over medium-high heat, 3–5 min per side until 140–145°F internal.
- Rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
🥬 Asian Slaw
Crunchy and refreshing — balances out the rich pork perfectly.
Ingredients:- 3 cups shredded green or red cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Optional: sesame seeds, chili flakes
- Mix vinegar, soy, honey, and sesame oil.
- Toss with cabbage, carrots, and green onion.

Ingredients:- 12–16 oz sugar snap peas
- 1–2 tsp sesame or avocado oil
- Salt and cracked pepper
- Optional: splash of soy or citrus, sesame seeds
- Toss peas with oil, salt, and pepper.

- Finish with citrus or soy if using.
